DANISH PASTRY 
8 cardamom seeds (pound to powder)
1/2 c. sugar
3 pkgs. dry yeast
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. warm milk (1 1/4 c. with dry yeast)
3/4 lb. soft butter

FROSTING:

Confectione rs' sugar
Milk
Vanilla

Sprinkle dry yeast over 3/4 cup warm water. Beat eggs; add sugar, salt and cardamom seed. Add dissolved yeast and milk. Add 6 cups flour.

Mixture will be sticky - use 1 cup flour to gradually pat out dough. Make 7 cups in all. Using 1/4 pound butter, spread it over dough. Fold it over and pat it out again. Using second 1/4 pound butter, spread over dough. Fold dough over and pat out again.

Spread most of the third stick over dough and fold and pat out again. Cut off pieces of dough and shape. Let rise until double in size. Add jelly or jam. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Frost.
