CHILI CON CARNE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
2 c. water
1 (15 oz.) can kidney or pinto beans
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste

In large saucepan, brown beef. Add onion and garlic. Drain off excess fat. Add remaining ingredients to pan and combine well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, stir and cook 30 minutes. Let set for a few minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
