BLACKBERRY JAM CAKE 
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening or butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. blackberry jam

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Line three 8-inch pan bottoms with wax paper. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon in large mixing bowl. Cream sugar and shortening until creamy and smooth. Add eggs, beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Stir in jam.

Pour into greased pans. Bake in 375 degree oven 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Cool on rack 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pans, remove wax paper. Place on large cake plate. Cover with sauce icing.
