SEAY'S BRANCH BLACKBERRY JAM
CAKE
 
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 pt. blackberry jam

Mix together the ingredients as listed. Pour into 2-layer cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Frost with a caramel or white icing.

NOTE: Cake may be baked in a tube pan.
