SWEDISH MEAT BALLS 
1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 egg
Flour
4 tbsp. shortening
1 c. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
2/3 c. milk
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. allspice

Combine meat, onion, beaten egg, crumbs, milk, seasonings, and sugar. Mix well. Shape in balls and roll in flour and brown in shortening. Remove from pan and add 1 cup milk to drippings. Mix 2 tablespoon flour with 1/3 cup water and add to the drippings mixture. Stir until thickened. Season with salt and pepper. Add meatballs, cover and cook for 20-25 minutes. May add more allspice and nutmeg if desired.
