SPINACH DIP | |
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach 1 pkg. Knorr vegetable soup mix 1 medium onion, chopped 8 oz. sour cream 1 c. mayonnaise 1 can water chestnuts, chopped 1 large round loaf bread Thaw spinach and drain thoroughly, squeezing all water out of spinach. Mix spinach, soup mix, onion, sour cream, mayonnaise and water chestnuts. Blend well and set aside. Using a sharp paring knife, carve a "bowl" into your loaf of bread. Make a circular cut around the middle of loaf, leaving at least 1 to 1 1/2-inches on the outside of the "bowl". Using your hands, scoop out the part of the bread that you have "cut" around and break the bread into bite size pieces. You may also scoop out some more bread from the inside sides and bottom of the bowl, just be sure to leave enough so that it will hold its shape. Place your bread bowl on a large serving platter, pour the dip mixture into the bread bowl and place your "dipping" pieces around the bread bowl. You may also use corn chips for dipping. Dip will keep well for several day before placing in the bread bowl. |
