GLORIFIED GINGERBREAD 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. molasses
Pinch of salt
1/2 tsp. nuts, chopped

Sift flour and spices into bowl. Add butter and brown sugar and crumble with hands. Remove half the mixture to save for topping. To the balance add egg, sour milk to which soda has been added, molasses, salt and nuts. Put in greased loaf pan lined with wax paper. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
