“ICE BOX COOKIES” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  OATMEAL COOKIES

ICE BOX COOKIES 
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) shortening (I use Crisco's butter variety)
2 large eggs
1 tsp. baking soda combined with 2 tbsp. warm water
1 tsp. vanilla

Slowly mix all the listed ingredients together. Roll it so that it will be about an inch to 2 inches thick and maybe a foot in length.

The dough then must be wrapped in wax paper and frozen for 24 hours. THEN - Slice it up and bake the cookies at 350°F on an ungreased aluminum cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes. Allow the ice box cookies to cool at least 10 to 15 minutes before you remove them from your cookie sheet.
