APPLE DESSERT 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg
Dry cereal
1 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. water
Milk
Apples
Cinnamon to taste

Separate egg. Beat yolk with enough milk to make 2/3 cup. Add to flour, sugar, salt, and shortening. Mix like pie crust. Roll half the dough to fit a 10 x 15 inch pan. Add a layer of dry cereal and top with enough sliced apples to cover. Sprinkle with butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Top with remaining half of dough. Beat egg white stiff. Spread on top of dough. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes. While still warm, glaze with powdered sugar mixed with water. Cut in squares. Serves 20 or more.
