TJ'S BEST BARBECUE SAUCE | |
This is a very rich sauce! 1 (16 oz.) bottle hickory smoke flavor barbecue sauce 1 (16 oz.) bottle honey flavored barbecue sauce 1 (8 oz.) can tomato paste 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup maple syrup 1 tsp. onion powder 2 tbsp. butter Pour the prepared sauces into a large saucepan. Heat on medium for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add tomato paste, onion powder, tomato paste and butter. Heat, stirring continuously for an additional 5 minutes to melt butter and incorporate onion powder into sauce. Add brown sugar and maple syrup and heat for another 5 minutes stirring constantly again. Allow to cool in saucepan and pour back into bottles. What does not fit into the bottles is enough to cover a whole chicken or a full rack of ribs with two thick layers of sauce. Refrigerate bottles. Sauce will be good for about six weeks. Enjoy!
