ROY'S RESTAURANT'S PEA SOUP | |
1 lb. whole red peas 1 lb. split peas 4 med. size chopped fine carrots 2 c. chopped ham 1 gallon ham stock or water Ham base Pepper to taste Salt if needed Soak split peas in cold water overnight (to soften). Next day pour off water and add 1 gallon stock or water to split peas. Boil easily until split peas are 3/4 cooked (they will dissolve). Add whole peas, carrots and cook peas until peas get soft. Add ham and season with ham base, pepper and add salt if needed. |
