SOUR DOUGH BREAD | |
6 c. bread flour 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 1 c. sour dough bread starter 1/2 c. corn oil 1 1/2 c. warm water Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Grease another large bowl. Put dough in greased bowl and turn dough once to grease all sides. Cover lightly and let stand 8 to 12 hours. Punch the dough down, knead a little and divide into 3 or 4 parts. Knead each part on a floured surface 8 to 10 times. Put into greased loaf pans and brush with oil. Cover lightly with oiled wax paper and dish towel. Let dough rise 8 to 12 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans immediately and brush with melted butter. Cool on racks. Wrap well and store in the refrigerator or freeze. |
