8 c. pears, chopped
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 lemon
5 c. sugar

Wash, pare, core, finely chop and measure pears. Add lemon (sliced), sugar, ginger and 1/2 cup water to pears. Boil until thick. Pour boiling hot into jars and seal at once.
