My boyfriend hated this recipe and asked me not to ever make it again. I thought it was okay but it lacked in flavor. I had to add crushed garlic, pepper and salt. The ground lamb is too bland. I would make it again but I would substitute the lamb with lean ground beef and saute the onions and garlic first.

Anyone whining about his boyfriend not liking this simply cannot read. This is "Lebanese" style Spaghetti that simple, delicious and mouth watering. The salt, tomato and allspice is all that is needed. If you want spaghetti bolognese or other Italian Spaghetti with garlic and basil, etc... look for an "Italian" Spaghetti recipe...

I personally do not use cheese and use only 3-4 tbsp. tomato paste for an authentic Lebanese taste. I also skip the pine nuts...

However, this recipe is good for any Lebanese abroad who wants the "Lebanese" taste.

My family is northern Lebanese and we use garlic in our Lebanese spaghetti, and a hint of cinnamon, no pine nuts. Each region is different.
