AVERY ISLAND DEVILED SHRIMP 
1 lb. deveined shrimp (fresh)
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. fine bread crumbs
1/4 c. butter
Deviled shrimp sauce
3 c. hot cooked rice

Roll shrimp in mixture of egg and salt, then in bread crumbs. Brown in butter over medium heat about 10 minute until pink. Remove shrimp and keep warm while preparing deviled shrimp sauce. Arrange shrimp on rice and pour sauce over all.

DEVILED SHRIMP SAUCE:

1 med. onion, finely chopped (1 c.)
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp. butter
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can consomme
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. steak sauce
1 1/2 tsp. mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. Tabasco
1 to 2 tbsp. lemon juice

Saute onion and garlic in butter over medium heat until tender. Add remaining ingredients except lemon juice. Bring to boil and simmer 15 minutes or until volume is reduced to 1/2 (about 1 cup). Add lemon juice. About 4 servings.

My family's favorite dish. They want it at every birthday or special occasion. Takes a bit to prepare the shrimp and cook it but worth all the time and effort. I would definitely cook more shrimp as I promise all shrimp lovers will definitely want seconds!

Substitute Ritz Crackers for the bread crumbs - trust me, it'll make it extra special. My grandma (in Key West) used to make it this way & it was amazing. Still is....
