CHOCOLATE MINT BARS 
BASE:

1 pkg. chocolate mint cake mix or reg. chocolate mix
Add 1 tsp. mint flavoring
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 egg

Combine these until crumbly. Press in bottom of 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

FILLING:

1 env. unflavored gelatin
1/4 c. boiling water
4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. mint flavoring
2-3 drops green coloring

Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. In large bowl combine softened gelatin, 2 cups sugar, butter, shortening, flavoring and coloring. Mix well then add 2 cups sugar and mix well. Beat on high speed about 5 minutes. Pour over base.

TOPPING:

6 oz. real semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp. butter

Melt in double boiler. Mix and pour over filling.
