HANOVER'S (C.'S CORNER) BEEF
BRISKET
 
1 well trimmed 4-5 lb. beef brisket
1 can beef consomme
1 sm. (6 to 8 oz.) bottle soy sauce (I use low sodium soy sauce)
1/4 c. lemon juice
2-3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 tbsp. liquid smoke

Put brisket in pan. Cover with other ingredients and marinate 24 to 48 hours, basting occasionally. When ready to cook, cover pan, brisket and marinade tightly with two layers of foil. Cook in a slow, 250-300 degree oven for 4 to 5 hours.
