APPLE BREAD 
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 apple, sliced
Few raisins
1 pkg. active dry yeast
3/4 c. warm water
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. flour

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Mix sugar and vanilla with fork in small bowl. Sprinkle mixture on melted butter in pan. Arrange apple slices in rows over mixture in pan. Sprinkle raisins. Stir together yeast and warm water in large bowl.
