WATER/SALT MIXTURE:

1 c. salt
1 c. water

Simmer until salt is dissolved and pour into a large bowl.

STIR INTO ABOVE MIXTURE IN ORDER GIVEN:

2 tbsp. salad oil
4 tbsp. powdered alum
Food coloring or tempera
4 c. flour

Turn on a board and knead. Store in a covered container. Let it cool before putting on a lid. This mixture will last 2 - 3 months if kept tightly covered. Nice and soft.
