1/2 c. salt
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. oil
1 to 2 drops food color
2 tbsp. powder alum
2 1/2 c. flour

Bring water to boil and dissolve salt. Add oil, food color, and alum. When cool enough, gradually knead in flour with spoon, then with hands until smooth. Keep in airtight container.
