24 HOUR SALAD 
1 fresh, clean crispy, head of lettuce
1/2 purple onion, sliced thinly and separated
1 c. finely chopped cauliflower
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 c. mixed red and yellow sweet pepper
1 c. chopped broccoli
1/2 c. chopped yellow squash
1 c. frozen green peas
2 c. light mayonnaise
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

In a large serving dish (clear is prettier) place in order listed above concluding with the green peas. Now mix mayonnaise and sugar until blended and pour/spread over veggies. Cover with the grated cheese and cover tightly, place in refrigerator overnight. Any fresh vegetable can be used at your discretion. After guests have seen the beauty of this salad, toss and serve.
