BRAN DATE NUT BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. molasses
8 oz. chopped dates
1 c. milk
1 c. Bran cereal
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. walnuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten

In medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, molasses and chopped dates. Heat to melt butter, stir in milk and Bran. In a large bowl, blend flour, chopped nuts, soda and salt. Make a well in the center, stir in Bran mixture and eggs just until well blended.

Turn into a greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake 1-1 1/4 hours or until cake tester comes out clean in oven preheated to 350 degrees. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
