BAKED APPLES WITH RAISINS 
6 lg. apples
6 tbsp. bread crumbs
6 tbsp. dark brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter, melted
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. raisins
1 1/2 c. boiling water

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Wash and core apples; arrange in greased 9 x 9 x 1 3/4 inch baking dish.

3. Combine remaining ingredients, except water; use to fill apples.

4. Pour boiling water around apples (use more if necessary to make 1/2 inch deep).

5. Bake 50 minutes or until tender, basting with syrup in dish.

6. Serve hot or cool with whipped cream if desired.
