APPLE PAN DOWDY | |
3 c. sliced apples 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1 egg 6 tbsp. butter 1 cake flour 1/8 tsp. salt 1/3 c. milk Melt 4 tablespoons butter in 9 inch baking pan. Add brown sugar, stir until dissolved. Arrange apple slices in baking pan over mixture. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Combine with remaining butter, egg, sugar and milk. Pour the batter over the apples. Bake at 375 degrees until apples are soft, about 40 minutes. Remove from oven, loosen from sides of pan, invert onto a serving dish. Serve with ice cream or whipping cream. Diet tomorrow. |
