1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter

Cream shortening, add sugars. Then one egg at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in half of flour with salt and soda. Add rest of flour. Add peanut butter.

Roll in balls. Put on greased cookie sheet. Mash with fork dipped in sugar. Bake at 375 to 400 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes.
