POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. butter
5 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
5 oz. evaporated milk plus water to make 1 cup (Pet or Carnation)
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat sugar and butter about 5 minutes. Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix flour and salt. Add flour and milk ending with flour. Fold in flavoring. Start in cold oven. 325 degrees 1 hour and 45 minutes.
