This is the only right recipe for this drink. My Grandparents made it for years and don't waste time with the others. The work it takes to make this batter is totally worth it!

Not too complicated and ooh so delicious! I went to the store to just buy a jar of Tom and Jerry mix and couldn't find it anywhere. This recipe was a lifesaver for our party.

Thanks!

I just found out that my favorite T & J batter is not being made by Marmel's in Wyoming this year. Oh no! So I found this recipe & went to town to pickup the ingredients that I didn't have on hand. Wow! This is wonderful. I may be having Tom & Jerrys for supper tonight! I separated the whites into the blender and the yolks into a hand mixing bowl. The butter went into the Kitchen Aid bowl, and I eventually added everything into the Kitchen Aid bowl. A bit of clean up, but who cares, have a fresh Tom & Jerry. Cheers!

Tom & Jerry's are a regional drink in the Midwest as if you are out West or other places, they don't know what they are. The Knights of Columbus Lodge & the VFW here, both make them on the night before Thanksgiving and the afternoon of Christmas Eve. But you can buy the batter in the liquor store too. All very good! Best with the liquor of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum!!!

I used to spend the holidays in Washington state where I had the opportunity to try T&J batter for the first time. It is so delicious. In the last two years I've gone back to Seattle for Christmas and have been unable to find it. I feel like thet holidays are incomplete without it, so it's time to make my own. I'm very excited to try this recipe, and I think it's worth pointing out that T&J is great in coffee. Ymmmmm!

On the west coast, for years, have bought T&J batter made by Trader Vic's. Can't find it now in Las Vegas, Soooo, delicious substitute and I make it myself. Looks good.

Making this today. I've been searching for a true traditional Tom & Jerry batter recipe since I can't find it anywhere locally. None of the liquor stores around here even know what hot buttered rum is. They tried to sell me butter shots. LOL. These people are clueless when it comes to yummy holiday boozy drinks. Mom made us kids virgin T&J's which is when I fell in love. Then I got older & tasted the real thing. Can't wait to make this today!

Amazing! I was tired of paying $8 for 16 oz of store bought batter so I looked through dozens of recipes and picked this one. It's kind of messy to make, but well worth the end product! Yummy, spicy, smooth and buttery... my husband says it's WAY better than any we've ever bought!
