PEANUT BUTTER POUND CAKE 
2 1/2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. peanuts, chopped (optional)

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add vanilla and peanut butter. Sift flour, baking powder and salt and add to mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, remove and cool. If desired, before end of baking time while cake is soft, sprinkle 1/3 cup finely chopped peanuts onto batter for a crunchy topping.
