BUTTERMILK BUTTER POUND CAKE 
3 sticks butter (no butter)
5 lg. eggs
3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/4 c. plain flour
1 c. buttermilk

Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar gradually until all is added. Beat well while adding. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beat well until all are added.

Dissolve 1/4 teaspoon baking soda in 1 tablespoon water and add to 1/2 cup of buttermilk. Add flour 1 cup at a time, using buttermilk and soda alternately until all is used, then add remaining buttermilk and flour until all has been used. Add vanilla and beat well. (The secret of this cake is to beat well after each addition.) Bake in bundt pan (well greased or spray with Pam). Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
