TOASTED WALNUT PIE 
1 1/4 c. (5 oz.) Planters walnuts
Boiling water
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (9 inch) pie shell

Drop walnuts into boiling water. Boil 3 minutes, drain. Spread out in a shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Cool.

Combine eggs, sugar, corn syrup, butter, salt and vanilla extract. Mix in walnuts. Turn mixture into pastry shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Serve warm or cold topped with vanilla ice cream if desired.
