CRUMB TOP APPLE PIE 
Slice tart apples into a deep (large) pie dish or pie tin, as for any ordinary pie. There is no lower crust. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and 2/3 cup sugar and dot well with butter. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon. Add 4 tablespoons water.

UPPER CRUST:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar

Mix the sugar and flour, cut in the butter. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the pie. Bake in 350 degree oven until brown. Serve plain, or with cheese, whipped cream, or ice cream. It's delicious.
