1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 c. warm water 1 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar In bowl, combine yeast and water. Stir into yeast mixture the flour and sugar. On the day you get Herman starter, give it a feeding: 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup sugar. Keep refrigerated in a large bowl with a lid. Stir every day and feed again on the fifth day. Bake him on the tenth day. Stir each day. If you want it sooner, feed second time and let set out 24 hours. Put in big enough bowl. |
