FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. oil
2 c. white sugar
3 eggs
3 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. thinly sliced or chopped apples
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 325 to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or tube pan. Beat oil and eggs until foamy. Stir in apples and sugar. Mix flour, soda and salt. Stir in apple mixture. Stir in nuts and add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Pour batter into pan and bake one hour or until top springs back when lightly touched. Dribble the following icing on cake while cake is hot.

ICING:

1/2 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. canned milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to boil and boil 2 minutes on low heat.
