DAVID'S FAVORITE PRUNE CAKE 
1 c. Wesson oil
3 eggs
2 c. self rising flour or 2 c. plain, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. cooked, chopped prunes
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. mace
1 c. black walnuts (or your preference)

Mix all ingredients well and bake in a 13"x9" pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. white syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook until color changes to caramel color and forms a soft ball in cold water. Pour over cake while hot.
