PRUNE CAKE 
1 c. salad oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. prunes, cooked & chopped
1 c. pecans, chopped

Blend sugar, oil and eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Fold in nuts and prunes. Bake, in greased 9 x 13-inch pan, at 325 degrees for 1 hour. May be baked in tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients, except vanilla. Cook slowly to soft ball stage. Add vanilla; beat and put on cake. Sprinkle with coconut (optional).
