GRANNY CAKE 
CAKE:

2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. nuts

SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix by hand flour, sugar, salt, eggs, soda and pineapple with juice. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix brown sugar and nuts; sprinkle on top of cake batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. When cake is almost done bring all of the sauce ingredients to a boil. Pour over hot cake. Serve.
