WELSH COOKIES 
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter
1 egg
3/4 c. milk

Mix dry ingredients together in large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is mealy. Add egg, milk and currants; mix until all ingredients are moistened and dough holds together. Roll out on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutter. Heat electric fry pan to 300 degrees. Brown like pancakes. Yields 60 cookies.
