PECAN CHEWIES 
1/2 c. softened butter
1 (1 lb.) box light brown sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add to cream mixture. Stir in vanilla and pecans. Pour batter into greased and floured 3 x 13 inch pan. (Do not spread batter to corners of pan.) Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cut into squares.
