OLD-FASHIONED COLD REMEDY | |
My family has used this remedy for generations. 1 granny smith green apple juice of 1/2 large lemon (or 1 small; must be fresh) 1 tbsp. honey 2 walnuts 1/2 tsp. grated fresh ginger (optional) Using the large section of grater, shred the apple, peel and all. Add the lemon juice, the honey and, after shelling and chopping the walnuts, add them to the mixture as well. The final ingredient is ginger (this may be added for a little extra kick but is not necessary to achieve the desired effect). Now this is the important part: Immediately after stirring the ingredients thoroughly, the person coming down with or suffering from the cold must eat the ENTIRE mixture and wrap up warmly. The sick person will begin to sweat as their PH balance changes. Any fever should break and the consumer will feel better by morning. Submitted by: Julie Straton |
