PEANUT BUTTER BRITTLE
2 c. sugar
1 c. white corn syrup (Karo)
1/2 c. water

Cook until "crack" stage. Use candy thermometer!!!

Add 2 tablespoons butter and 2 cups raw peanuts. Cook, stirring constantly until syrup becomes brown. (Don't scorch.)

Remove from stove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 teaspoons baking soda. Stir until soda is dissolved and foam is well stirred down.

Pour mixture into well greased pan. (Use butter.) Can use cookie sheet; granite pan; or marble slab. Let cool briefly until candy begins to set, then turn it over in pan. (So both sides will be buttered and pieces won't stick together.)

When cooled, break into bite size pieces and store in airtight container.
