STRAWBERRY MERINGUES 
3 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Dash of salt
1 c. sugar

TOPPING:

1 sq. chocolate
1 tsp. butter
1/2 c. cream
1 tbsp. powdered sugar
Strawberries

Combine egg whites, vanilla, cream of tartar and salt. Beat until soft peaks form. With mixer working, gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Cover baking sheets with brown paper. Draw 8 (3 inch) circles on paper. Spread meringue over circles (1/3 cup each). Using back of spoon, shape into shells. Bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes.

Topping: Melt chocolate and butter together. Drizzle over meringues. Top with strawberries and sweetened whipped cream.
