BAVARIAN POUND CAKE 
1 lb. granulated sugar
1 lb. butter
1 lb. eggs, weigh eggs after removing from shell
1 lb. general purpose flour
2 tbsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder

All ingredients must be at room temperature. Sift flour with baking powder 3 times. Slightly beat eggs. Preheat oven to 325 to 350 degrees.

Using a mixer at high speed, blend sugar and butter for about 10 minutes or until sugar is almost melted. Slow beater slightly and add eggs a little at a time and mix well. Add vanilla and continue mixing. Slow mixer down a little more and add flour a little at a time. Mix only as long as needed for smoothness.

Pour mixture into a 10 inch tube pan and place in the center of 325 to 350 degree oven. Bake for 1 hour, test with toothpick. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a rack for 1 hour then remove from pan. Powder top with confectioners' sugar. Mmmmm-mmmm-good.
