BAVARIAN APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sliced almonds
4 c. apples, peeled & sliced & mixed with
1/3 c. sugar & 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough into bottom and sides of 9 inch springform pan. Combine softened cream cheese and sugar; mix well. Blend in egg and vanilla.

Pour into pastry lined pan. Toss apples in cinnamon and sugar mixture. Spoon apples over cream cheese and sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 400 degrees and continue baking for 25 minutes. Cool completely before removing springform pan.
