FLAKY PIE CRUST | |
4 c. unsifted flour 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 3/4 c. vegetable shortening 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 lg. egg 1/2 c. cold water In a large bowl, mix first 3 ingredients well. Add shortening and mix until crumbly. Combine water, egg and vinegar, beat with fork. Combine all ingredients until well moistened. Divide dough into 4 portions. Wrap each in a plastic bag and chill 1/2 hour (or freeze for next time). Roll out on a floured board. Bake at 425 degrees. Ready for your favorite filling. |
