HAMBURGER CHOP SUEY | |
2 c. celery, cut in 1-inch strips 1/2 c. onion, sliced 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 1 tbsp. oil 1 green pepper, chopped 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1 1/2 c. water 1 beef bouillon cube 1/4 c. soy sauce 1/2 tsp. salt 4 c. cabbage, chopped 1 chow mein bean sprouts 1 large can mushrooms, drained 1 can water chestnuts, drained 4 c. cooked rice Brown ground beef, celery, onion and green pepper in oil. Mix cornstarch, water, bouillon cube, soy sauce and salt. Add to beef and vegetable mixture. Cook over medium heat until clear and thickened. Add cabbage and cook until done. Just before serving, add bean sprouts, mushrooms and water chestnuts. Serve on cooked rice. |
