ENGLISH WALNUT CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour and 1 tbsp. baking powder, combined
1 c. chopped English walnuts
1 tsp. mace flavoring
1 c. water

Cream butter and salt; add sugar and mix well. Add eggs. Combine flour, baking powder and mace. Add the first mixture alternately with water. Fold in nuts. Grease and line tube pan. Spoon dough into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
