SOUR MILK BISCUITS 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. cold shortening
1 c. thick sour milk (less if milk is not thick or if you are using buttermilk)

Mix and sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening, add milk and mix. Knead lightly using as little flour as possible on board. Roll to 1/2" thickness, cut with floured cutter, place on greased baking sheet and bake in very hot oven, 500 degrees, for 9 minutes. Makes 12 to 15 biscuits.
