GARLIC DILL PICKLES 
1 c. pickling salt
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. white vinegar
7 c. water
Garlic cloves
Dill heads

Place 1 head dill and garlic clove in jar. Pack cucumbers in jar tightly. Boil salt, sugar, vinegar, water together and pour over cucumbers in jar. Place lids on clean jar tops and screw on ring. Boil bath for 3 minutes.

I have read that you HAVE to keep at least a 50% vinegar to water ratio to prevent botulism.
