DINNER ROLLS | |
1 c. boiling water 1 c. shortening 3/4 c. sugar 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1 1/2 tsp. salt 6 c. unsifted flour 1 c. lukewarm water 2 beaten eggs Use large bowl. Pour 1 cup boiling water over shortening, sugar, salt and cool. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water. Add to shortening mixture. Add beaten eggs. Add flour, 2 cups at a time. Mix well, cover and put in refrigerator for at least 12 hours. Will keep 5 to 6 weeks. When ready to use take out amount needed onto floured board. Form into desired shape. Place in buttered pans. Let rise in warm place 1 1/2 hours. Bake 400 degrees for 15 minutes (watch closely). |
