LEMON COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour, sifted
1 c. milk

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and lemon extract. Sift dry ingredients together. Add milk and flour mixture alternately to sugar mixture. Pour into greased and floured 8 inch square pan.

Sprinkle lemon sugar over batter. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

LEMON SUGAR:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. grated lemon rind
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. melted butter

Combine all together.
